Good Morning and Happy Friday!

My name is Lori Harmer and it is an honor to introduce myself to you as the Executive Director of Hope on the Slopes, Ski and Ride for a Cure. I am humbled to have the privilege to lead this organization. There is no doubt, I am excited to be part of the HOTS family and after only a couple weeks in my new position, I already feel like I’m at home.

I am thrilled and look forward to meeting each and every one of you. But until then, I’ll tell you a little bit about myself. Prior to being chosen for my position, I served 21 years active duty in the United States Coast Guard. After my retirement, I took some time and stayed home and raised my son Luke. Next, I returned to college and graduated from Central Washington University in 2014 with a Bachelor of Science in Social Services and a minor in Psychology. It was during my academic career I became involved with the American Cancer Society as I completed two internships within the Mission Delivery Program. This is where I witnessed first-hand how programs offered by the American Cancer Society support those who are fighting cancer.

My goal in this position, as in my life in general, is to make a difference. However, I cannot do this alone. Therefore, I am soliciting your help in making HOTS 2016 an awesome year. We have many volunteer opportunities and positions available from marketing, fundraising; day of event, event chairs, and the list goes go on and on. If you are interested, please contact me at Lori.Harmer@cancer.org. Let’s work together to make HOTS 2016 one of our best years yet!

Have a wonderful weekend,
Lori Harmer
